Thogari bele saaru(toor daalRasam)


Ingredients

1. Toor daal - 1 cup
2. tomato - 1 finely chopped
3. Rasam powder(ex:MTR) - 2 tsp
4. tamarind paste - 1 tsp
5. jaggery - a pinch for taste
6. salt - for taste
7. oil,curry leaves,mustard, hing, red  chilly for tempering
8. coriander for garnishing











Method:

1. wash and cook the daal along with chopped tomato by adding a pinch of turmeric and 1/2 tsp of ghee/butter/oil.

2. pour the cooked daal in to a vessel and pour the water until u get the rasam consistency and boil for about 5-6 minutes

3. Now add tamarind paste,salt and jaggery and boil for 3-4 minutes.

4. Now add rasam powder and boil the mixture for about 3-4 minutes.

5. Heat all the tempering ingredients  and add this to the rasam mixture.

6. Garnish with a few strands of coriander leaves and serve hot.


Note: you can prepare the rasam powder freshly at home. I will give the recipe for rasam powder soon.
